Formed in 1992, Nuance is a male a cappella ensemble of the Lesbian and Gay Chorus of Washington DC.  Nuance produces a distinct, close harmony sound with a contemporary flair. Their performances have been described as "somber to jubilant, always elegant and entertaining."

Nuance styles most of their songs. Their repertoire includes freedom songs, spirituals and songs that reflect the loves and joys of the LGBT spirit.

Nuance has collaborated with various groups and individuals, sometimes doing joint concerts, performing commissioned works and even singing for dance. The ensemble is currently composed of three tenors, Alvin Mayes, Eric Ziegler and Russwin Francisco.
